About the Carbon AT

After almost one year of focused developing we finally have a finished eBoard out of resilient & nice looking  carbon fiberwith a proper & comfortable design so you won't have any problems with wheel-bite or unsafe standing.  Beside  high-quality materials, we also focused on high-quality & well-working parts for the electronics such as the customized Hobbywing ESC with 3 speed modes & a sensor for smooth braking & acceleration, which offers you a safer and enjoyable ride on your electric skateboard. Furthermore, the ergonomic Remote is also a customized version of Hobbywing which gives you outstanding control feeling so that you get merged with your eSkateboard. The Carbon AT comes with  huge motors unified in a dual belt driving system and a  big 14 Ah  Sanyo lithium ion  batteryfor  long ranges up to 30 km. For the wheels, we used  elastic Honeycomb Tires 6" (150 mm) with solid rubber, so they give  suspension comfort as well as enough stability to you and your electric skateboard. They also give you the advantage of riding on any terrain, even if there is mud, bricks or high grass. Compared to air tires you never have to check the pressure on them & never have to worry about any sharp objects on the way. Because of their hardness, they also work pretty well for drifts and slides. All these features won't be that enjoyable without the double King Pin axles with proper bushings & a suitable truck length. We tried different types of parts & suppliers until we found the solutions with the best results.

Be careful, the Carbon AT is a beast but a nice one!

The electric skateboard evolution reached an advanced stage. eSkateboards aren't longer just toys with a board & electric driven wheels. They became a serious part of our modern mobility like cars and motorcycles, and so we decided to develop a serious eBoard which we can recommend to you with the best conscience.

With our previous products, we already received lots of happy customers and a big fan community. You can already check out lots of reviews which shows you that our products are reliable and convincing but the  Carbon AT is on a new level!

Hub vs. Belt Drive

A belt driven eBoard has the motor mounted outside the wheel with a belt connecting the motor and wheel with a sprocket. A hub motor has the motor mounted inside the wheel with no need for a belt.

Belt Drive
Our belt drive system allows for interchangeable wheels and of course a full polyurethane wheel for a more  comfortable ride and  greater customization. The 3:1 gear ratio offers so much  more torque than a hub motor of the same power.  Faster acceleration, better hill climbing ability, & power over  rough terrain where hub motors are left in the dust.

Hub Drive
With just a few mm of Polyurethane separating the motor and the riding surface, hub motors don't provide a very comfortable ride on anything but the smoothest of roads. Yep, we admit, hub motors are more discreet and look great. If you prefer the look of a hub motor then that's fine, but if you prefer more torque, acceleration and complete customization then belt drive is the way forward.

Its actually a really good board

My board has stood up to me torturing it. Its has been handling great. Good speed, great torque, and takes hills like a champ. 30° uphill without hesitation. AT wheels on it and you could ride it through the bowels of the underworld and back pretty smoothly. It corners sharply if you need/want. The battery life is great on the board, the controller will run out before the board does. It holds up sturdy to physical abuse, taking run ins with concrete and and metal with only minor dings and scratches. You will be broken before the board. Helmet is an absolute, and pads are highly recommended, you'll find yourself at high speed faster than you'd imagine and you'll find out how tricky gravity and momentum can be as fast as this board will accelerate. Be warned this thing is heavy, I was not expecting the heft of it and your average board carrier ain't gonna cut it. The grip tape will have to be replaced after a week or two, but I was in mud and rain, so take that with a grain of salt. This board is a blast though, I've already recommended it to many friends. Worth the money and a definite competitor to mainstream boards.

    My first Board

This is my first Electrcian skateboard and I’m loving it. I chose the carbon board because I’m a heavyweight and it supports my 115kg fine. I’m also keen to do a bit of off road stuff which is why I chose the AT. Out of the box I chose not to adjust the trucks big mistake I got some massive speed wobbles and managed to stay on my board thankfully. So I’d suggest checking that first. I’ve been riding it to work everyday and it’s been great I get lots of looks. The one thing I should’ve done was buy the cloud wheels at the time of purchase it would’ve been great to play with another option. One day!!!
All in all a great board and would recommend it.

    Finally received, very good product

Some delays in the delivery (40 days) but the product is absolutelly Top. Completely similar (... in many aspects better than) to concurrents.
The board is very big and heavy to transport so I suggest to Ownboard to invent some kind of handlers that can help to transport it using the front weels rolling. I’ll be more accurate in next reviews

    carbon 120mm cloud wheels

I finally recieved the board . It took six weeks to the Netherlands. Response by mail was fast. But please improve shipping.
I road the board 2 times for about 11 miles. Temperature 3-6 degree celsius (cold). 2 solid bars left. that is good considering the temperature. This board is heavy comparing it with the ownboard W2 or my backfire G2 .The board felt really stiff on my first ride. On the second ride i could feel that the cloud wheels started to break in and the ride got smoother. (wheels need about 50 miles to fully break in) You can carve deeper with the double kingpin truck (better turning). The cloud wheels are growing on me and are a good intermediate between street and AT. But i still like street wheels better for smooth roads i think. Top speed in mode 2 20-21mph. Did not test mode 3 but i am sure it will hit the 26mph mark. I like to ride the trucks loose and did not get any speed wobbles at 21mph. My weight 80KG. Torque felt less than expected. Don't get me wrong torque is more than enough and i could be wrong because power delivery is so smooth. Quality wise the carbon deck will not match the new evolve GTR but that board is twice the price, Checking the board i discovered that at least 2 deck screws for the top plate could not be tightend (thread had not enough meat or the diameter is a little to wide). I solved this for now by using teflon tape on the M4 screws but this was a real let down for me (so 4 stars). Ownboard you really have to do better on this part.
The board in general is structuraly good and has no ratles. Motors are pleasant quiet. I would like a more rebound on the bushings and will try the orange carving bushings from evolve. Motor pulley is 15 teeth and the wheel pulley 44. Belt 5m length 290 and 15mm wide. Also will be testing the board with the evolve 38 teeth pulley and 97mm evolve street wheels. I expect to hit the same top speed and also expect to get even more range. But lets find out.

    i jut bit the bullit

I alread own the ownboard 2 and really like it. Flexy deck nice top speed with 90mm wheels. Really it is all you need. But getting used to the board i was drawn to more power with also a good topspeed and even more range. So when different chinese AT boards came out i hoped that they would come with a street version. Design wise i preffered the ownboard carbon but just not the big wheels. Now they offer the board with (semi) streetwheels 120mm cloud wheels so after days of hesitation (do i really need it? NO! i already have 3 boards) i decided to go for it. Can't wait to recieve the board and see what it is all about. I opted for the carbon version instead of the bamboo because i don't intend to go off roading and the streets i ride on are overall pretty nice. Now i just will have to wait and see
