The Ownboard is everything I wanted and more! Have had it for 2 weeks and have easily put over 100 kms on the board! There was a clunking or rattling that I assumed was coming from the motors but it was actually just one of the bearings in the AT wheels. After replacement of the bearings the problem is now non existant! Thanks ownboard!
really like the board, really good fun and a quick way of transportation.
only the battery will not load, it seems it doesnt work.... i hope we can solve this problem asap.
beside the battery and trusting on OwnBoard to fix this in a proper way, really good electric skateboard!
Awesome board i am a 225 lb rider plenty of power good top speed has a really smooth ride and i get 20-22 mile range Great Board !!
Where is the board I don’t have it yet!???
There are loads of reviews out there, and the problem i have with reviews from people who do it for a living and ride all sorts of boards, is they get into the nitty gritty tiny little details which your average person won't notice or simply won't care about. At the end of the day, this is an electric skateboard which is well made, goes really fast, for a very long way and is LOADS of fun! If you've never been on one before, you will not notice the difference between this and an Evolve I'm sure. I used to skateboard, I've been snowboarding and wake boarding and am into mountain biking, but this is my first E-board. With in 10 minutes I was riding confidently, last night I did have a pretty big slam at 16mph without pads so I strongly recommend knee pads, helmet and elbow pads.
I did lots of research and just could not justify an Evolve board which costs more than my car!!
I’ve also got cloud wheels which I'm yet to try out but from what ive read, it will be an even better experience.
Things which people bring up a lot in reviews......
-speed wobbles! Get used to them and learn how to control them. It actually makes it more fun for me.
-Not so good off road? I fully intended to go properly off road but now find smooth roads and pavements much more fun. The big wheels can deal with obstacles but it gets pretty bumpy. Theres some woods ill try out soon where the tracks are quite smooth dirt.
-It would be good to see the battery level on the board when charging, just an LED or something so you know how much longer there is to go. You have to turn both remote and board on to see the battery level.
-It does take along time to charge but what do you expect from something that can go 19miles at 24mph! It needs a lot of juice. So plan your rides and think ahead, no biggy!
-Hills! Amazing, the gradient of hills this thing gets me up is insane. It feels a bit like magic! It will drain your battery much quicker though. Im short and light though.
-The remote. Pretty basic, light plastic but absolutely fine. I landed on it last night and scratched the front badly, but it saved my hand and wrist! See pic.
-I'm not going to lie, its heavy! Which is fine when your on it but its by no means portable. I wouldn't want to carry it very far and I consider myself pretty fit. So id say you need to live somewhere where you can go straight from your front door or have car to get you to a suitable place.
Ordered on the 13th May and arrived 30th May, I paid for fast shipment. Considering the current situation, I wasn't really expecting it for another 2 weeks! Communication was great the whole time.
This is an amazing piece of kit, its not a toy so be careful! I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I really like the bamboo board super fun!! I just when out for my first ride the results were so satisfied no regrets so far so good.... good range as well the only thing I didn’t like was customer service I ordered my board with different color cloud wheels they never reply back ok other than that as I said awesome board .
The board is good generally, but some details needs to be improved significantly. Screws are loose, one of the rear wheel nut can’t be tightened all the way or the wheel won’t spin. The most annoying thing is that there has been a rattling noise in the board, like something is loose and moving around inside the housing or something, really makes me worry about it. Also the breaking power is far from enough, especially on the AT setup.
Also had to pay extra $150 shipping to Canada
